From thought provoking conversation to the opportunity to sail with like minded guests. Cunard has long been the preferred shipping line for travellers seeking to broaden their intellectual horizons. In 2007 Cunard launched their "Cunard Insights" enrichment programme where guests enjoy and even broader range of opportunities to interact with acclaimed experts and prominent speakers. However this was not a new concept but had its origins in the informal lectures undertaken by famous personalities to other passengers on board the Queen Mary back in the 1930s.

Cunard Insights delves into a variety of interesting and relevant topics and introduces guests to experts and well known speakers who reflect Cunard Line's long heritage of exploration, intellectual stimulation and prestige. Through a series of lectures, Q&A's, debates, social gatherings and workshops, guests connect with prominent personalities who have achieved distinction and prestige in areas such as history, world affairs, science, politics, arts and literature.

For many decades the Cunard ships have been frequented by celebrities, filmstars and famous personalities. Today they are able to impart their knowledge and experience via lectures and workshops to the guests as part of the enrichment programme. Cunard for generations has set the standard for onboard special interest programmes. "Cunard Insights" takes the special interest programme to the next level and made it more engaging and interesting for all participants on board.

Traditionally, Cunard has attracted the world's well educated and intrepid travellers. Dating back to the 1930s and the famous Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth, several guests, including distinguished personalities such as Sir Winston Churchill or Cole Porter, engaged in informal talks to their fellow guests as a way of entertaining themselves.Just as the crew would organise deck games, lessons on etiquette and talent shows, guests enjoyed sharing their knowledge and experiences with each other. So from these informal beginnings back in the 1930s on board the Queen Mary, through successive generations of Cunarders has developed a more formalised enrichment programme which today on board the Queen Mary 2 and the Queen Victoria has become the "Cunard Insights" programme we have today. Cunard Line thus is keeping tradition alive!
